These  eBook texts are all about Catholic wisdom and virtue. Some of the  eBooks  offered here may be older, while others are not old. Remember that virtue is timeless; it never changes. It is important to have respect and tolerance for different religions and philosophies as sometimes one can understand an important concept when it is explained from a different perspective, or a different teacher. A universal truth will manifest itself in each society; it will however manifest itself in different ways.

A sage once said:

"The value of words

lie in their reliability."

In Catholic catechism, the seven virtues refer to one of two lists of virtues, most commonly referring to the 4 cardinal virtues of prudence, justice, restraint or temperance, and courage or fortitude, and the 3 theological virtues of faith, hope, and love or charity; these were adopted by the Church Fathers.

An alternative list, the seven heavenly virtues consists of chastity, temperance, charity, diligence, patience, kindness, and humility.

Other virtues include:

mercy, generosity, liberality, nobility, valor, strength, integrity, truth,  prudence, will, determination and resolve.

The fruit of the Spirit is, charity, joy, peace, patience, benignity, goodness, longanimity,

Mildness, faith, modesty, continency, chastity.

Against such there is no law.

Seven capital vices:  vainglory, envy, anger, sloth, lust, covetousness, and gluttony (greed).

                  Prayer of
          St. Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred,
let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amen.
